Fao'a. Stone adze. This Fao'a (adze) is worked from ofa'i (stone) of a dark grey colour. The adze is trapezoidal in section. It has a shallow bevel and blunt cutting edge. The surface of the blade is rectangular in shape. The Fao'a reduces towards the poll. White marks are visible on the surface which is pecked.
