Foe. Paddle. Carved from a single piece of rakau niu (coconut tree wood). Rapa (blade) is pointed with a lug at the tip of the blade. The butt-end of the kakau (handle) is flat. An area near the top of the handle, near the base of the blade, is carved with a rectangular, hour-glass shape. Three circular shaped mother of pearls shells also decorate the top of the handle. The blade is decorated with triangular shaped mother of pearl shells, placed in pairs, with their apices touching. Dark brown in colour. Excellent condition overall.
