[Mariposa, passenger liner of the Matson Line, at mooring]
documentary heritage
The Mariposa was one of four ships of the Matson Line that plied the U.S. west coast and Pacific. Photos of the ships with the U.S. ensign painted on their hulls suggest a date of World War II, during which time they served the U.S. government to carry troops and freight.
