Pulou
human history
Pulou. Hat. This pulou is worn by women. It is made of fau (hibiscus fibre), fibrous material and cotton thread. A long strip of plaited dyed-yellow and green fibrous material is created, which is then sewn continuously in the round to form the hat. A pink fili (plaited) band with serrated edges is made of fau and is threaded onto the edge of brim, also using a purple-coloured cotton thread.
