Mat, pandanus. Plaited in diagonal check, double layer, with repeating motif spaced across entire upper surface against background on purple and white check. Undyed lower surface in plain check has a serrated rim. On the upper surface each strip is split in two and brought into braid which holds red and blue woollen fringe in place.
