Kali. Headrest. This kali is carved from kau (wood) and consists of a long horizontal bar for the tolo ni kali (body of the kali) and two yava ni kali (support legs for the kali) lashed to each end at its underside with magimagi (coconut sennit). The tolo ni kali is carved into a slightly concave shape and flares slightly towards each end with an additional bar carved on its underside for reinforcement. The two yava ni kali are carved into U-shapes and lashed, joined to the underside of the wooden rest with magimagi. The kali bitu is reddish brown in colour. Its overall surface is smooth and polished with some areas of wear.
