Te kakoko
Te kakoko. Woven glass holders made from the young central part of the coconut leaf. This is a pair of woven glass holders. They are one pair from a set of four. They are both cylindrical in form with a circular opening and concave base. It has been woven entirely with kakoko through the style of a twill weave and finished at the edge of the rim. They are off white in colour and flexible to handle. Te kakoko is considered a significant material for its careful cultivation and flexible properties when used in weaving. The non-dyed kakoko remains in its natural off-white colour
