'Ava

'Ava. Kava root. Tugase. Kava root with attached long stem. 'Ava (kava) is the name for the entire plant, root, powder, and beverage. 'Ava like this one are referred to as tugase, and consist of the root of the plant as well as a long part of the stem. Tugase are used for ceremonial presentations where they are gifted by one person or party to another. This particular one is completely dried out, light brown in colour, the stem is long and cylindrical in shape and a part of the root is still attached.
