Vai tatai. Canteen. This vaitatai consists of a young spherical coconut shell wholly encased in fauato (two-ply twined sennit) lashed and knotted in a repeated diamond pattern, with a knotted handle. It has a stopper inserted into the natural opening at the top of the shell. The fauato lashing is light in colour and highly textured.
