Ike. Bark cloth beater. Used for pounding and producing sheets of masi (bark cloth). Carved from solid kau (wood). Long and square in cross section with a tapered handle. Four-sided, with three sides with grooves spaced 4mm to 6mm apart. An 'X' is incised near top of handle. One side is plain without grooves. Chipping at the top of the ike. Dark brown in colour. Black splotches visible across the ike.
