Fan
human history
Fan. This is a hand held fan woven into the form of a circular shape. The handle is carved of a light coloured wood that has been split half way to hold the circular coiled body of the fan. A synthetic purple dyed strand of hibiscus fibre has been used to lash the body to the handle. Dried pandanus leaf has been used to weave and create knotted triangular patterns from the centre of the circular body. A black dyed strand of pandanus has been used to border the circular body.
