Wasekaseka
Wasekaseka. Whale tooth necklace. Consisting of twenty-three whale teeth, honey yellow/ivory in colour. The teeth are long, narrow, curved in shape, with pointed ends, bored at their bases and threaded onto a braid woven from magimagi (coconut sennit). Multiple braids woven from magimagi form the base of the wasekaseka. Knotted at one end, with a thin braid also woven from magimagi wrapped around the opposite end. There is chipping and cracks visible across a few of the teeth. A rectangular sticker is stuck on the underside of a tooth with "FIJI IS NECKLACE OF CACHELOT WHALES' TEETH 7.[?] 291[?] No. 0106" handwritten in dark coloured ink.
