Ancestor board from a men's house (Lava). also carried at dances. Anthropomorphic face carved on one side. Painted with coraline lime and ochre. Suspension holes on either side of face with fibre attached. Complete vertical break, evidence of old mend with metal staples present. Paper label attached to back of larger piece.
