Toki

Toki. Adze. Multipurpose tool used for carving wood and other materials. Carved from basalt toka (stone). Dark grey in colour. Triangular cross-section. Large chip in cutting edge and bevel surface. Shallow bevel surface. Slightly rounded front of blade with slightly raised shoulder reduced to butt. Rounded butt end and poll. Polished in overall surface treatment (with some pecking still evident in areas).
