Te mwae teimoone. Shell currency. This long strand of te moni (shell currency) consists of small pieces of white nouo (conus shells) and dark brown nana (coconut shells) ground into small discs drilled at their centre and strung in an alternating monochrome pattern on a length of medium brown cord of te kora (coconut sennit), tied off at each end.The pieces are an average of 7mm in diameter.
