Fakaulu
Fakaulu. Dart head. This is a component that would be used with another component to play tika (game of darts, propelled like javelin). It has been made from gigie (type of wood; the tree grows in coastal areas, on cliff top). It is of a red and brown colour tone. The wood material has been carved to resemble that of a long tear drop where its base is convex and would carry most of the weight. Its cylindrical in form and tapers into a point at the opposite end. The convex base features a long node that would be used to insert and wedge the fakaulu into the end of a shaft. Once assembled together, both components would be used to play tika.
