Yame ni Matau

Yame ni Matau. Adze blade. Yame ni Matau (the tongue of the adze), is carved from vatu (stone) and dark grey in colour with a semi-circular/elliptical cross-section. Yame ni Matau has a moderately sharp cutting edge, with a mildly steep bevel, and with a slightly rounded blade. Yame ni Matau has a high level polish all over, with the butt left pecked.
