Kali. Headrest. Carved from kau (wood), consisting of a rectangular rest, flared outwards towards ends, sitting atop two yava ni kali (support legs) of horseshoe shape with square feet. The yava ni kali are joined to the underside of the kali by being slotted into grooves and lashed together with braided magimagi (coconut sennit). Plugs of kau used to firm the connection. Reddish brown colour. Slight chip on two ends of the rest.
