U'a

U’a. Baste of the Paper mulberry tree. This is a circular coil of u'a that has been acquired from the bark of the paper mulberry tree. It has not yet been processed and left as matofi (raw material). The width of the u'a is short and shows some holes from where branches may began to shoot when it was originally part of the tree. U'a is the main fibre material for producing Siapo (Tapa cloth; Bark cloth).
