Reru. Pounder. Used for pounding food or ingredients for producing dyes. Carved from a single piece of basalt stone. Overall shape is conical. Pounding surface at base is slightly rounded. Reduction from base to form cylindrical grip. Top of the pounder ends with two transverse protrusions or 'knobs'. Overall surface treatment is polished. Dark in colour. Heavy.
