Bilo ni Yaqona

Bilo ni Yaqona. Coconut shell cup for yaqona (kava). Consisting of the cut lower half of a qa ni bilo (coconut shell), smoothed and polished on interior and exterior surfaces, with a small bito (lug) carved at its base. A cotton cord is threaded through a drilled hole in the centre of the bito and knotted at ends. The shell's interior and exterior surfaces are polished smooth with some patina. The bilo is dark brown in colour.
