Tairiiri. Fan. Composite tairiiri with blade woven from kikau ou (coconut leaf), with apuraka (giant swamp taro) overlaid akamanea (decoration), kiriau (hibiscus fibre) akaververe (fringe), and rakau (wooden) mauranga (handle). The blade is in the shape of an inverted triangle. The blade is woven from kikau ou and is appoximately 30mm wide. Woven commencement at centre base. Woven out in 2/2 twill from the centre to form lower and upper edges, and sides of blade. The top of the blade is decorated with strips of dyed-orange apuraka and completed with dyed-red kiriau akaverevere across the top of the blade.
