'Arā. Adze blade. Carved from a single piece of ofa'i (stone). The 'arā is with a moderately flat or mildly steep bevel, that is slightly concave. Quadrangular in cross-section, with the cutting edge jagged and sharp. The blade is of high polish, with the back, sides of the bevel, poll and butt left flaked. The shape of the 'arā tapers from the cutting edge to the butt. Grey in overall colour.
