Kahoa hihi. This kahoa or neck ornament is long in length and consists of a pattern of alternating shells strung on cotton thread. The repeated pattern of eight yellow hihi (land snail) alternating with eight small dusky pink sea shells is brought together and tied with a knot in the thread. Kahoa may be worn by dancers during performances, worn to accentuate cultural attire, or gifted to loved ones.
