human history

A round basket with single handle. The short cylindrical base is made up of coils that have been covered and knotted together with dried pandanus material. Strands of brown pandanus centre the base part, light brown pandanus material follows and then is bordered off with a mix of green and brown dyed hibiscus fibre. The sides of the basket feature a pattern defined by brown dyed hibiscus material. The opening curves inward. A handle has been attached separately and features a woven chequered design made from pandanus and brown dyed hibiscus.
