Bark
human history
Bark. A fragile piece of bark with creases. On one side, parts of the surface is covered in a brittle layer of clay-brown colour which appears to be flaking off. Despite this, the fibres remain intact. The opposite side shows absence of layer or protection, increasing exposure for the fibres. As a result there are loose strands hanging off the body of fibre, particularly at wide end. The narrow end shows stains and small wear and tear.
