Kali ni Bitu

human history

Kali bitu. Bamboo kali. This kali bitu is made from composite materials and consists of segment of bitu (bamboo) for the tolo ni kali (body of the kali) with yava ni kali (support legs for the kali) lashed to the underside with magimagi (coconut sennit). The dark reddish brown coloured bamboo rest is slightly bent, and naturally sealed at each end. The two yava are carved from solid kau (wood) and are a forked shape. One of these yava is slightly loose.
