Iri Buli. Fan. Woven in the style distinctive to the women of Daku village, Tailevu province. Woven from drau ni niu (coconut leaflet) (coconut leaflets) of natural colour, incorporated with somo (black dyed strips of voivoi, or pandanus) to decorative effect, and magimagi (coconut sennit) braided in tali tolu (3 ply braiding technique) tightly wrapped around the handle, with loop of magimagi for hanging up the iri for storage. Blade's commencement at centre base, woven out in vertical twill. Somo woven through from the commencement at centre towards widest points of the blade and along the top edge, finishing at the apex. Identical on both sides.
