headrest

human history

Kali. Headrest. Kali are wooden pillows or headrests that are placed under the head or nape of the neck whilst sleeping or lying down. There are different types of kali that vary in construction as well as the materials used. This kali is a kali laloni which is apparent in its construction, the upper part on each leg is shaped like a V which ensures it fits neatly into the inverted V shaped protrusions on the underside of the kali. The legs and headrest are further secured with kafa (coconut sennit cordage).
