Saqa Vonu

Saqa Vonu. Water vessel made of qele (clay), and in the shape of a turtle. One orifice on the base (stomach) of the vessel. i gaga (pouring spout) also on the base (stomach) of the vessel. Slanted incisions and a ridge decorate the circumference near the base of the shell. Lines are also incised across the base to depict the stomach of a turtle. A mouth and two eyes have been incised across the head of the turtle. A front and a back leg have been broken off. Coated with makadre (resin from the Dakua tree).
