Te raum
Te raum. Spade. This is a large mussel shell (horse mussel) that was used for gardening. Its entire form is shaped like a tear-drop. The interior of the concavity is smooth and shiny with surface fractures and patches of white lustre near the mussel scar. It varies in colour from dark to mid-brown and the lighter area shows some transparency. The edges are rough around the curve of the shell. There are cracks featured along the hinge ligament with a slight separation between the interior and exterior surfaces. The exterior of the concavity is made of a series of fine ridges that make up the lines of growth. White erosions over the upper area of shell exterior. The colour of remaining area varies from dark to light brown. It is large in size and is considered useful in gardening.
