Commencement at rim. Rim reinforced with coconut leaf midrib. Plaited down in check to narrow band of horizontal twilled twos, then wider band of vertical twilled twos changing again to narrow band of horizontal twilled twos, then slightly wider band of vertical twilled twos finishing with check. Braided finish at base. Dark brown all over and internally with soot or pigment. One rolled carrying string across width of basket.
