Commencement from section of a coconut frond split longitudinally along the stem. Commencement at the rim. The leaflets are narrowed and softened by removing both the midrib and the edges. The dextrals come from one foundation midrib, the sinistrals from the other. Plaited in check. Bottom closed with two-way three-ply braid. The tails pass inside the basket and then out again a quarter of the way up the sides.
