Tipa paikea

Tipa paikea. A looped snare for catching crabs (paikea). It is made from a long and slender piece of tuaniu (coconut midrib). At its tip is tied with a noose of braided fenū (young coconut fibre), white in colour. The tipa paikea is light brown in colour.
