Auckland Museum is home to over 4 million objects and a team of passionate people who care for, learn from, and share our important collections. Here are the stories from our people and our taonga.
The Auckland War Memorial Museum Library Te Pātaka Mātāpuna is one of New Zealand’s major research libraries. Our reading room is open to the public, students, and academic and general-interest researchers alike, and is the main access point for the Museum’s impressive Documentary Heritage collections.
As an active centre for research, the Museum enhances what is known about our rich collections, boosts external partnerships and offers more value to increasingly diverse audiences. Auckland Museum's 160-year legacy of research, scholarship and innovation is experiencing an exciting era of development.
