Kete. Bag. Possibly made of rauara (pandanus). Personal carrying bag, square in shape. Double-layered, with both layers commencing from base. Inside layer consists of wide strips of plant fibre, possibly rauara, woven out in check. Outer layer consists of wide strips of possibly rauara, woven out in 2/2 twill which alters to a finer weave, 2/3 twill, consisting of strips of natural and dyed-black strips of possibly rauara. The weave alters again to finish in a check weave as it progresses to the top of the kete. Lock-off at top rim of kete. Handle consists of two two ties made of coconut sennit, iri taki toru (3-ply braid). Each tie is inserted into a side, opposite of each other.
