human history

Ruru. Dance shakers. The two ruru are identical, and each consist of a large bundle of kiriau (hibiscus fibre) strands that are folded in half. Two three-ply plaits woven from kiriau are tied around each of the wands (approximately 30mm and 55mm from the fold) forming the grip.
