ornament
human history
neck ornament made of 'te nana' and porpoise teeth. valued as a necklace by old men, but not as much as 'te buangui'. as there is no perceived difference between porpoise and whale in the mind of the Islanders, both whale and porpoise are 'kua'. some of the teeth in this necklace are ground down whale teeth.
