    • Rory Arnold was the son of Richard Arnold and Jane Louisa Bringaloe (Reeves) of Korere, Nelson.

      Lance Corporal Arnold's brother, Private Brian Arnold (6/1770) also served on Gallipoli. He was with the Canterbury Infantry Battalion.

      Four Brothers saw active service, three in WW1 and one in ww2, Trooper Richard Reeves Arnold (55577), Lance Corporal Donald Harman Arnold (WW2- 48934), Rory Arnold (7/157) and Brian Arnold (6/1770)

    • Another brother, Trooper Richard Reeves (55577) went with the 31st Reinforcements and served with the Mounted Rifles in the Middle East.
      And a younger brother T/L/Cpl Donald Harman (49735) served in World War II, in Egypt and Italy with the 20 Armoured Regiment.
      There were four boys in the family and they all served in the Army overseas.
