With grand entrances on the North side of the Museum, your guests will be wowed from the beginning.

Start your evening with cocktails in the neo-classical Grand Foyer. (Capacity 150 seated dinner or 300 for standing cocktails).

Hold a seated dinner on our top floor, under the copper dome of our Event Centre, with magnificent views of Auckland. (Capacity 450 seated).

Auckland Museum has everything you need to ensure your small conference goes off without a hitch, including:

A spacious lobby to host attendees for cocktails, or set up as a small exhibition space.

The Event Centre is perfect for larger conferences and can seat up to 600 (theatre style). It can also be hired as a larger exhibition and dinner venue, with cocktails in the Grand Foyer beforehand.

Our venues can help put your product or presentation in the spotlight.

You can showcase everything from a car to a digital portfolio in the Events Centre, as well as a cocktail or sit-down dinner event.

Our Auditorium is a great venue for hosting larger scale presentations.

Dazzle your guests by holding your next cocktail function in amongst the grandeur of the Grand Foyer, or by taking in the near 360-degree views of Auckland from our Event Centre. 

If you're looking for something more intimate the Champagne Mezzanine is ideal for a debonair cocktail party; or the Origins Gallery is available for hire for drinks with the dinosaurs.

Catering options

Take the stress out of organising your event and leave it to our expert accredited caterers. They are familiar with all the venues and can be relied on to make your event run seamlessly. Our caterers may be able to offer extra assistance in arranging the detail of your event – whether that’s choosing the perfect table settings or designing a special themed menu.

Car parking: Auckland Museum’s car park is available for your guests at an hourly rate, or you can pre-purchase parking tickets for attendees. Please note that whilst on-site paid parking is available, there are also a number of free timed spots in The Domain.
