[Page 3]

"Chum. I find it is a great blessing to have faith in Christ Jesus. It is such a comfort to be able to pray & receive help & strength for the days battle. And, I feel so very much stronger & better for only a few words of prayer. I feel very near to you Dear when I pray for you. Sweetheart we have been so very happy together and I love you so if I should happen to be among the missing 'Dear heart' I would not like anyone else to take my place. I would like to meet you just as I left you Dearie my wife & Chum.

[Page 4]

When I come home Chum we will build the sweetest & quaintest little cottage & have lots of love & kiddies to fill it wont we? ... Dear old chum do not worry about me. I am in perfect health and as happy as I can be away from you. And I am prospering. And I feel in my bones that I will come back again to you my wife ... I am thinking of you all the time and I feel sure will be very brave and have a dear little 'Cuddly' [baby] waiting for me."
