  • In loving memory of my amazing grandfather (Pa). You were always a light in my life, with a smile and a joke. I would knock on your door and you would call 'come in' and as I was walking in, you'd add 'but only if you're good looking!' We would sit watching cricket together, munching on crackers and blue vein cheese, drinking tea in cups with saucers... Something almost no one does now... I loved working in the orchard with you, putting around on the big old red tractor, picking fruit into the big apron bags that almost dragged on the ground when I filled them too full. Sitting for hours on fruit boxes, polishing apples carefully, so the customers would see their glow!
I loved how you and Ma looked after me whenever times were tough, how you taught me to cut bread, buttered, so finely it curled into a roll, how you seemed to read in bed, drinking tea, all night. Family was your world. X
