  • Colonel Cyprian Bridge arrived in New Zealand in 1845 as a Major serving with the 58th Regiment. He took part in the battles of Puketutu (May 1845), Ohaeawai (July 1845) , Ruapekapeka (Jan. 1846), and the action at Kapotai Pa (1845). He left New Zealand with the 58th Regiment in 1858 and was appointed to command the Regiment.(AWMM Collections Online Record)

    Auckland War Memorial Museum holds Colonel Bridge's Mess Dress uniform, Regimental Colour of the 58th Regiment, Mess Dress Jacket, Tunic, Regimental Badge, Original Diary and watercolours.

    Grandfather of Cyprian Everard (25/72), Hugh Decimus (24332), Lance (8/2255) and Lionel Septimus (25/46) Bridge who all served in WW1 AWMM
