Roll of honour, listing World War 1 soldiers from the Cook Islands. Ref: 1/1-006732-G. Alexander Turnbull Library, Wellington, New Zealand. This is one of two honours boards. The second relates to the Fourth and Fifth contingents. Both are now housed in the Pioneer Lounge of the Cook Islands RSA. The Two boards originally stood in the old courthouse, but were moved just before a fire destroyed the building. (Information from Henry Wichman of Rarotonga, 2010). /records/22480864

  • APPEAL FOR RELATIVES - 17 MARCH 2021

    Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage is the New Zealand agent for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC). As agents for CWGC we are responsible for graves of personnel who died between 4 August 1914 and 31 August 1921 and 3 September 1939 and 31 December 1947.

    Private Nga Naeiti has an official Commonwealth War Grave. Private Nga Naeiti was added the Commonwealth War Graves New Zealand Roll of Honour in late 2019. We wish to discuss maintenance we would like to undertake on his grave.
