    Three brothers were killed within a week : Leslie Malcolm (31530); Leonard Charles (33755), Edwin (40234)

    Enlisted and posted to C Company, 23rd Reinforcements, 11 November 1916.
    Disembarked Devonport, England, marched in to Sling Camp and taken on strength A Company, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, New Zealand Reserve Group, 10 June 1917.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 6 July 1917. Disembarked and attached to New Zealand Infantry and General Base Depot, Etaples, France, 9 July 1917. Joined 2nd Battalion, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, in the field and posted to 12th (Nelson) Company, 25 July 1917.
    Killed in action, Belgium, 12 October 1917. Buried on Bellevue Spur (D 9 d88), Passchendaele, by the Reverend John Arthur Lush, New Zealand Army Chaplains Department, attached to 2nd Battalion, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, 13 October 1917.
