  • Kia-Ora, I am Archie McCaskill's 2nd eldest daughter (Colleen Ranga) and I live in Brisbane. My father fought in the 28th Maori Battalion, B Company, and he is still alive today, aged 94 years. We now have 5 generations and my Dad is still alive to see them all. My parents live in Hamilton. My dad still sings his favourite song "Maori Battalion" with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchild "Archie" who is 18 months old. Now all our little ones know the words and the tune to. Some whanau have seen on television, a member of the B Company by the name of Arthur Midwood. Dad remembers "Arthur" and calls him "Midi" (who, sadly, we have learned from the Maori Battalion website) recently passed away in March 2015). I will now contribute some information in the biographical section of this web page.
