  • Tena Koe my Koro. As I sit here in the Auckland Museum on this glorious day, Thursday 25th of April 2024. I am blessed and thankful for all you and everyone did for us to be here today. I am also saddened by these events as to why I never got to meet you! All your mokopuna live on through you Koro. Phoenix, Julius, Cortnee, Zara and Baby Hope, along with Grand moko Iris.   • I Haupuru Makiri am the grandson of Haupuru Makiri. My grandmother, Theresa Agnes Makiri nee (Tewake) was his wife. My fathers name was Edward Thomas Makiri and his wife my mother was Takuwai Faith Makiri-Mason. My children are Phoenix, Julius & Zara Makiri. My sister Kahupine Makiri is the mother of Cortnee Makiri & Hope Makiri-Hennings, my 2 nieces. I have a grand daughter named Iris Faith Makiri.
