  • A wonderful man, I was privileged to have him as my father in law

  • Kia ora Uncle Bishop Just taking a minute to say we all remember you and you are always in our memories. And also Aunty Nan for her mahi in the Women's Army. You were so brave leaving home and going all the way over to someones else's land to fight a fight that wasn't yours or ours to fight. I recall the small snippets you shared with us about your memories of being a prisoner of war and how that happened. I recall the images I saw in my mind as you described watching some of your comrades infected wounds being eaten by maggots. I was sickened and you explained the maggots eating the rot helped to save their lives, cos there was no medication. I have images of you crawling through the hot desert, wounded, afraid and yet determined to make it to the camp and you did. And even though you said you couldn't cook, you did just to stay alive. Brave, caring, forgiving you - thank yo
