  • Private Willie Robert Wilson aged 21, was born and educated at Muriwai and was shepherding there prior to his entry in the armed forces. He volunteered for the Maori Battalion and was accepted early this year. He was in camp for a short period before sailing with Maori reinforcements and had been in the forward fighting in Italy for some time.
