  • When I use to attend Ilminster Intermediate in Gisborne, New Zealand, my Grandad use to bring me fish and chips for lunch with a fanta drink. When I use to attend Lytton High School in Gisborne, my Grandad use to bike to my school to bring me lunch. He use to bring me home cooked fish. I also use to walk to his house at 189 Lytton Road, Elgin, Gisborne for lunch. Sometimes he would have paua fried in butter for me.I also lived with my Grandad while I attended Lytton HIgh School in my final 2 years of High School. He would leave me lunch money on the bench. Just thinking about all this, you fed me alot Grandad. I will forever cherish the times I lived with you as I got to know you better during that time and in the years that followed. Thank you for your sacrifices Grandad before, during and after the war. Always loved and remembered.
